Ans1. Installing a CD means to load the software of the CD on the hard disk of a computer so that you can run it later.

Q2. What are the requirements of a multimedia system?
Ans2. A multimedia system essentially consists of the following hardware:-
a) CD/ DVD drive for inserting CD/DVD.
b) A sound card and speakers for producing sound.
c) Colour monitor to display video.
d)Microphone and Headphone for recording and listening to sound.

Q1 How do you type text in Paint?
Ans i)To type paint we select text tool [A].
      1. Go to View menu select text tool bar .
      2. Drag the pointer on the drawing page .
      3. Click in the dotted box, you will find cursor ,type the text you want.
      4. From the text box you can select colour ,size and style of text.
Q2 Write down the options you see in image menu .
Ans The options of Image menu are:
      1. Stretch / Skew
      2. Flip / rotate
      3. Clear Image
Q3 How do you flip / rotate a picture vertically ?
Ans To flip or rotate a picture :
      1. Goto Image menu.
      2. Select the option Flip /Rotate .
      3. A dialogue box appears with options , Flip horizontal or Flip vertical .
      4. Choose the required option .
      5. Click OK.
        (Note : Rotate option rotates a picture by the given angle :Rotate -right 90 , rotate- left 90,etc)
Q4 How do you set a picture as wall paper in Paint ?
Ans Steps to set a picture as wallpaper :
  1. Draw a drawing and save it.
  2. Now go to the File menu .
  3. Select the option Set As Wallpaper (centered) or the option Set as Wallpaper (tiled)
Q5 Write the shortcut keys for :
  1. To Flip or Rotate - Press CTRL and R keys .
  2. To Resize or Skew - Press CTRL and W keys.
Q6 Define the following :
  1. RESIZE command : It changes the drawing by making it narrower ,wider ,shorter or longer.
  2. SKEW command : It changes one end of the drawing while keeping the other end fixed .
Iii) CROP command :CROP means to cut off . This option allows to keep the selected area and delete everything outside it . It is a feature of PAINT in WINDOWS 7.

      1. Chapter 3 - “ More on Paint ”
Q1. What is the use of Text tool?
Ans1. Text tool is used to change colour, size, font and style of the text used in drawing.

Q2. Write down the options you see in Image group.
Ans2. The Image group contains commands to select, crop, resize, flip or rotate an image. Selection is of two types:- Rectangular and free form. Resize and skew can be done vertically or horizontally. Invert selection in select group can be used to change the current selection.

Q3. Write the steps to crop an image.
Ans3. Step1: Select that part of the image which you want to keep, using SELECT in image group.
Step2: Click Crop in the image group. The selected part gets cropped.

Q4. How do you flip a picture vertically?
Ans4. Step1: Select the Image using Select in image group.
Step2: Click Rotate in the Image group, and then click Flip Vertical option from the drop down list ( It gives us an upside down image.)

Ans1. Primary memory is present on the motherboard (eg. RAM, ROM)while secondary memory is removable (eg. Compact Disk, Pen drive).

Ans2. Devices which are used to enter data and instructions into the computer. Eg. Keyboard, Mouse.

Ans3. Pen Drive.
