Chapter 1- “ Introduction to Computers”
Q1. What are input devices?
Ans1. Devices which are used to enter data and instructions into the computer. Eg. Keyboard, Mouse.
Q2. Which device is also called flash drive?
Ans2. Pen Drive.
Q3. Name two types of memory.
Ans3. Primary memory and secondary memory.
Q4. What is a printer? Also name three types of printer.
Ans4. Printer helps to take the output on the paper. Three types of printers are:- Dot Matrix printer, Inkjet printer and Laser printer.
Q5. What is the difference between primary memory and secondary memory?
Ans5. Primary memory is fixed in the motherboard (eg. RAM, ROM) while secondary memory is removable (eg. Compact Disk, Pen drive).
Q6. What is secondary memory? Explain few storage devices.
Ans6. The secondary memory is used to store the data permanently. Its data is not erased even when the computer is switched off. Some commonly used secondary storage devices are:
a) COMPACT DISK(CD) :- It is portable device that stores large amount of data.
b) PEN DRIVE:- It is a small portable device that stores very large amount of data.
c) HARD DISK:- Hard disk stores all software and data. It is fixed inside the CPU box.
