Q1. What is WWW?
Ans. WWW is World Wide Web which is the largest collection of information on the internet. It was developed by Tim Berners Lee in 1989.
Q2. What is a website?
Ans. Website is a collection of related webpages that provide information about many things such as a person, business organisation, educational and games institutes.
Q3. What is a webpage?
Ans3. Webpage is stored in an electronic form on the computer connected to the internet.
Q4. What is a homepage?
Ans4. Every website has a main page. This is the first page which appears when you open a website. This page is called home page.
Q5. What is a hyperlink?
Ans5. A hyperlink is a link to another webpage. It is generally a text or a picture. Pointer takes the shape of a hand when moved over a hyperlink. A hyperlink text is genereally underlined and is shown in different colors.
Q6. What is URL?
Ans6. Every website on the internet has a unique address. This address is called URL or Uniform Resource Locator. Eg. https://www.google.co.in, https://www.cordova.in.
Q7. What is a web browser? Give Examples.
Ans7. Web browser is a software program which helps us to view different webites. Pictures, text, images, animation etc can be viewed in web browsers. Eg. Apple Safari, Google Chrome, Opera, Microsoft Internet Explorer.
Q8. What are Search Engines?
Ans8. Internet Search engines are those websites that search information for you according to the words or terms you have given. Eg. Google, Bing, Ask, Yahoo etc.
Q9. What is address bar?
Ans9. The address of the website is written in the address bar of the browser.
